Demi Au Pair Host Families
Become a host family for an English language student Au Pair in Bristol and receive 20 hours a week of childcare!
Bristol Language Centre is excited to announce the launch of our NEW ‘Demi Au Pair’ Programme for 2017. As part of this programme we are looking for Bristol based families like you to become hosts for our European Au Pair students.
This is a unique opportunity to welcome an 18-25 year old European student into your home and benefit from:
- 20 Hours of childcare/domestic duties per week
- A unique cultural exchange for your entire family
- An opportunity to showcase and share your community with a European student
- Flexible hosting durations from 1 month upwards
Who will you be hosting?
Our Demi Au Pair programme is for European students aged 18-25. Your student will be on our Demi Au Pair course because they want the opportunity to travel, gain childcare work experience and improve their English language skills. (For more details, see What is a Demi Au Pair?)
What will you need to do as a host family?
As a host family, you will be matched with a student who will come to live with you during their stay in Bristol. The Au Pair will live with your family and should be treated as equal to family members, contributing in the same way as another adult family member would.
You will provide accommodation and meals for your Au Pair and provide them with transportation or financial support for travel to their English language course each morning. The student should also receive weekly pocket money of £50 - £70 per week.
Outside of their morning language course hours, your Au Pair will be available to provide you with up to 20 hours of childcare or help out with domestic chores. This can include babysitting, accompanying your children to and from school and light housework such as cooking or cleaning.
