What a year!
Almost a year has passed since we started to see dramatic changes taking place at BLC from the end of February 2021.
This time last year I was at ICEF Dubai as part of BLC’s recruitment strategy to increase enrolments from the Gulf and Middle East region. Everyone at BLC was looking forward to an incredibly busy summer across all our adult and junior programmes, supported by the Hungarian government’s initiative to send secondary and high school students to the UK in July and August 2020. The biggest challenge was how we were going to manage it all operationally.
The rest is most definitely history.
Following the initial and temporary decision to close the school at the end of March 2020, BLC has undergone a restructuring process; the BLC model has been adapted from providing year-round language programmes, to becoming an adult and junior summer school provider only, starting in July 2021. The process has been lengthy and at times legally complicated, but finally we are ready to go again.
BLC course programmes have been reorganised to be able to offer adult and junior programmes throughout July and August and these will be the same as in previous years. Subject to developments this year, we will be sourcing suitable premises to be able to provide face to face lessons at BLC from September 2021, on a more flexible basis than previously. In the meantime, BLC is proud to be working with Bristol’s other language schools to support and advise students who require face to face or online courses between now and July 2021.
2021 has had a bumpy start, but we feel that BLC is once again moving in a positive direction. We are looking forward to rebuilding the BLC experience for summer 2021 and beyond and putting our students and agents at the heart of everything we do.
We look forward to welcoming you at BLC soon!
