Dear Students, Partners and Friends of BLC

After reviewing the fast-changing global situation regarding Coronavirus/Covid 19, BLC has taken the decision to be a fully virtual and online school from 17th March 2020.  This is for an initial period of one month, after which the management team will review with the aim of reverting to being a physical school as soon as possible.

I and many business owners feel that the situation is changing faster than we can keep up with it.  We have spent the last two weeks putting together new policies and procedures as fast as we can read or interpret news, with the absolute aim of protecting staff and students while continuing to operate ‘as normal’ for as long as possible.  At the same time, we have seen students and groups booked in for the next few months understandably cancelling or deferring enrolments.

At the weekend, events took a dramatic turn with Spain now on lockdown in addition to Italy. We feel the situation in the UK could change at any moment and by taking this action now we can ensure the smooth transition of students from the physical to online environment.  This will enable all students to continue studying with the same teachers and classmates whether they are still in Bristol or have returned home early.  Students who are unable to travel in the coming weeks can join classes as planned and those thinking about booking a course are welcome to join our virtual school and connect with students from all over the world.

We hope this will bring some normality and continuity to students’ lives.  In time we will be adding on conversation clubs and social groups in order to mimic the physical school as closely as we can.

The welfare and academic progression of our students remains our absolute priority.  Our teachers are trained in the delivery of online and real time lessons and are fully competent in delivering the same level of service and education to our students, and our students have reacted very positively to this online learning concept.

BLC staff will voluntarily now work from home, however we are still very much open for business.  This is a temporary measure and we look forward to seeing you all in the real world before too long.  For now, stay safe and keep in touch.

All staff, students and partners of BLC are welcome to contact us directly through the usual channels during this time if they have any questions or concerns.
