I joined the BLC team exactly a year ago as the new Group Coordinator. Having started my role in late May, most of the Junior Summer preparations had already been made. This year is completely different for me as I have been preparing for the Junior Programme 2014 right from the start and what an exciting Summer it is looking to be!
As the team decided that the programme will be held at our main site in Redcliffe this year, there is a lot more work to be done in preparing for the arrival of our Summer students. For starters, the top floor of the school will be restructured and redecorated to appeal to the Junior school. I have to find the right host families for the students based on their needs as well as making sure students are picked up at the right time and in the right places when they arrive. Many bus passes need to be ordered and welcome packs need to be made. The only thing that I cannot arrange (but I wish I could) is the weather!
The Junior course is a very busy and intensive programme of classes and social activities which is why it is so important for everything to be highly organised and to run smoothly. I am very excited for the summer season to begin and I believe that we have a great team in place to make this an unforgettable summer to honour BLC’s 10th birthday!
